Incoming Romania – Visit Transylvania’s citadel
DAILY PROGRAM:
Day 1: airport transfer; accommodation in Bucharest; short walk in the old city centre; dinner at the hotel;
Day 2: breakfast; departure to Sibiu; on the way to Sibiu, short break at Poienari Fortress ( known as “eagle’s home of the old brave people” takes part of a chain of fortress that was build to protect the north part of the South Region of the Country);
-check-in at the hotel in Sibiu ( Cultural European Capital in 2007), then we will visit the old city centre, one of the best preserved places in the country. A big part of the walls and fortifications are in a very good condition. The old city centre is in the process of being part of the UNESCO list;
– dinner and accommodation in Sibiu;
Day 3: breakfast; visit: Brukenthal Museum, Astra Museum (the biggest open space museum in Europe); dinner and accommodation in Sibiu;
Day 4: breakfast; departure to Sighisoara ( the city was founded by German colonies. It was the place where Vlad the 2nd lived and in this period (1431) his sun Vlad the Impaler (alias Dracula) was born); On the way, we will visit: Silmnic (visit the fortress which dates since the 15th century); Medias – (old city center – St. Margaret Church, The Trumpet Tower – in 1969 was one of the tallest buildings in the world and because of its bent the tower occupies the 6th place in the world and the 3rd in Europe); Biertan (the fortified church); Valchid (the fortified church);
– dinner and accommodation in Sighisoara;
Day 5: breakfast; visit the city of Sighisoara: The fortress, the Clock Tower and Vlad the Impaler’s House; dinner at the hotel/optional festive dinner around the fire with traditional drinks and food (30Euros/person); accommodation in Sighisoara;
Day 6: breakfast; departure to Brasov; visits on the way: Saschiz ( the fortified church), Viscri– Saxon Fortress in Viscri (one of the most spectacular, the oldest and the best reserved fortified church in Transylvania, being included on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Through Mihai Eminescu Trust, Prince Charles himself involved in renovation of the church and few houses from the village giving them back a bit of the initial shining. Not only the isolation of the village but also the absence of other occupations besides agriculture, made Two Germans who established here to initiate the Sosete project at the end the the ’90-s), Rupea – the fortress, Harman – very well connected with the presence of the Teutonic in the country at the beginning of the 13th century, Prejmer – the best preserved and strongest medieval fortified church in the Eastern Europe. UNESCO list ;
– check-in at the hotel in Brasov; short walk in the old city centre; dinner and accommodation;
Day 7: breakfast; visit the Bran Castle (known as Dracula’s Castle) and visit the city of Brasov: the Council Square, the Black Church – one of the most representatives Gothic monuments in Romania, dating since the 14th century; dinner and accommodation in Brasov;
Day 8: breakfast; departure to Bucharest; on the way we will visit Peles Castle, the summer residence of the royal family, is one of Romania’s most visited historic edifice, unique by its historical and artistic significance, the Castle is one of the most important monuments of its kind in Europe; dinner and accommodation in Bucharest;
Day 9: breakfast; airport transfer;
NOTES:
-The dinner served at the hotel have fixed menu and includes 2 types of meal, salad and water.
-In the country side dinner includes:
- plateau with local products/soup/etc.>
- main dish <beans with boiled bone, polenta and salad/ meat stuffed cabbage and polenta /mashed potatoes with sausages and salad/schnitzel with fries and salad/pork stew with salad/meat and potatoes stew (papricas) and salad/fish with potatoes and salad/etc>, desert <donuts/sponge cake/apple pie/cheese pancakes/pancakes/etc.>;
- Drinks:1 bottle of mineral/plain water for every 2 persons, half a liter of wine per person, plum brandy/cherry brandy.
-The price is calculated for a group of minimum 25 persons; in case the group will not be reached, the price will be recalculated;
– The price does not include the airplane ticket to Romania and back, entrance ticket to the touristic sites, medical and cancelation insurance issued in the residence country, other personal expenses;
-On request, the route can be changed as well as the visiting points;
-The travel agency reserves its right to change the order of the attractions in the program as well as the accommodation, but this will not affect the price or the itinerary;
-The name of the hotels will be announced 10 days before the trip starts;
-The deadline for the last information about the trip will be 15 days before departing;
-Reservations are made on a 40 % upfront deposit basis;
-The travel agency is insured at Omniasig Vienna Insurance Group by the Policy H no. 24009/ 09.04.2016.
